Coming out from COVID

On our second get-together since coming out of COVID-19 restrictions, Michelle, Mary, Liz, Tom and Martin spent some time weeding and replenishing beds with compost. Thanks to Tom, the beds were well planted out for winter, and we've seen good crops of kale, silverbeet, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage. There's a good head of cabbage and cauliflower currently if you're quick. And someone has been regularly harvesting the rhubarb.

Replenishing the beds with compost
For the coming weeks, we'll keep up with a bit of weeding and replenishing the beds.

There is a bed that needs its sides replacing, and some of the fruit trees near the railway line could do with their framing being taken away to free them up for greater growth - something to plan in the months ahead. And before summer, see if we can fix the rainwater tank supply! - seems to be a blockage.

Late July, we will probably discuss spring plantings. Photos from today.
